On the border of the National Park

Folgefonna National Park is possibly our most beautiful National Park, as it is the only one that strecthes from the fjord to the glacier. Folgefonna consists of three plateau glaciers - Nordfonna, Midtfonna, and Sørfonna. Sørfonna is the third largest glacier in Norway. The National Park is close to 600 km2 and was opened at the Bondhusbreen May 14th, 2005 by Queen Sonja.

Four landscape preservations were established in connection with the national park: Bondhusdalen, Ænesdalen, Hattebergsdalen, and Buer. The first three are placed here in Kvinnherad. There are many options for fantastic walks and hiking experiences, ie., Bondhusbreen, Melderskin or Ulvanoso. Bring your camera, mountain boots, and hiking gear!
